Continuous performance
OvaCyte reduces the likelihood of human errors.
Provides a smarter way to analyze intestinal parasites. OcaCyte™ Eliminates the need for manual testing in the clinic, bringing automated parasite analysis directly to veterinarians.
It only takes 2 minutes and sample preparation takes less than 2 minutes. After that, the process is fully automated, freeing up time in the clinic.
The camera takes pictures of the parasite eggs. These are compared against a reference library using artificial intelligence, thereby identifying the endoparasites and calculating EPG (eggs per gram).
Traditional diagnosis of intestinal parasitic infections in animals requires manual identification of parasite eggs or oocysts in the animal’s feces. It is a process that is time-consuming and inefficient as it involves sending samples to laboratories.
OvaCyte™ technology modernizes this process by allowing rapid sample preparation on-site. OvaCyte uses an automated microscope and AI-driven image recognition software to identify parasite eggs with high accuracy by comparing images to a digital parasitological reference library in the cloud.
This method delivers results within minutes and can identify both helminth eggs and certain protozoan oocysts.
Step 1
The fecal sample is prepared using our simple method.
Step 2
The prepared sample is injected into the cassette.
Step 3
The surface of the cassette is scanned by the digital scanning device using a precise microscope lens and camera.
Step 4
The scanned images are uploaded to the cloud, where patented AI models identify and count the parasite eggs present in the sample.
Step 5
The algorithm refers to the OvaCyte™ image library, which currently has over 700,000 images and 150,000 labeled parasites, and it is constantly expanding.
Step 6
The results are presented in an easy-to-read report on the device’s screen or via the telenostic web application within minutes.
In the US alone, about 10 million fecal samples are performed annually on dogs and cats in reference laboratories. These tests are accurate but delayed and costly. An additional 30 million tests are conducted in clinics, where the accuracy of the results depends on the technician’s skill.
OvaCyte™ eliminates the need for laboratory and manual in-clinic testing by offering automated parasite detection directly to veterinarians, increasing efficiency, improving care standards, and reducing veterinary costs.
OvaCyte™ fundamentally changes the traditional “blanket approach” to parasite treatment in the animal welfare sector, leading to less anthelmintic resistance and allowing veterinarians to distinguish between parasite species for more targeted treatment. This prevents unnecessary treatment and reduces the risk of resistance development.
OvaCyte™ introduces a new cost-effective and digitalized standard for veterinarians worldwide.
